Resumen |
The proportion of children living in poverty has risen in rich countries since the worldwide financial crisis of 2008, concludes a new report by Unicef, the United Nations’ children’s agency.1 The report looked at the 41 richest countries in the world and found that in more than half (23) the number of children living below the poverty line (classed as living in a household earning 50% to 60% of average income, or less) has increased since 2008. This means that around 76.5 million children live in poverty in the world’s richest countries. |
