Mapping information on supply problems in small markets

Access to Medicines Programme

Facilitating Supply in Small Markets

The first phase of this exercise will consist in identifying the list of products for which information will be collected.

The competent authorities will be asked to provide the indicative list of products which have experienced supply problems in its country in the last three years.  Supply problems may include but are not restricted to:  no registration submitted, no effective marketing, delays in launching new medicines, shortages of supply, high/unaffordable prices, others, etc.  The products will be ranked by importance of the problem according to the perception of the competent authority.

Respondents should indicate the type of problem involved in each product listed, as well as the apparent/alleged causes of the problem (no profitability for a certain operator due to small market size, risk of parallel trade, risk of international price referencing, no agreement on price, etc)

INN (International Non-proprietary Name)
Brand name and pharmaceutical form
Short description of the supply problem
Apparent causes of the problem
