PhD, (male) is Professor in the in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law of the Castilla-La Mancha University, Toledo, Spain. Dr. Oliva-Moreno received a Bachelor in Economics from Carlos III University in 1996 and a Ph.D from the University Complutense in 2005. The main lines of his research are the economic impact that chronic diseases have on individuals and society as a whole (social costs beyond health care expenditures), as well as the potential usefulness of the economic evaluation of health interventions in the prioritization of public and private resources in order to improve population`s health. These researches have been carried out with the support of both national and international projects obtained in competitive calls and research contracts funded by public institutions (European Commission, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Regional Ministries of Health) and private firms and foundations. He has published one hundred papers in scientific journals (Journal of Health Economics, Health Economics, European Journal of Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, Health Policy, Diabetes Care, Neurology, Journal of Alzheimer´ Disease) and has participated in 30 collective works (books and book chapters).
